The Cyprus Ministry of Health has confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cyprus. Turkish-Cypriot authorities have confirmed COVID-19 in northern Cyprus. We advise you not to travel overseas at this time. If you wish to return home, do so as soon as possible.

We remain open and client services are strictly by appointment only and limited to emergency or urgent passport and notarial services for Australian citizens in Cyprus. If your matter is not urgent, please postpone the appointment. In accordance with measures implemented for COVID-19, facemasks are mandatory for all visitors entering the High Commission. Please note that if you are over the age of 16 you also need to provide evidence of a negative rapid test taken 72 hours or less prior to your appointment at the High Commission.

If you are an Australian citizen in Cyprus and wish to register your stay with us or your need to return to Australia, you can do so here: https://covid19.dfat.gov.au/citizeninformation/s/.  Please note that you must also complete an Australian Travel Declaration at least 72 hours prior to boarding your flight to Australia. Passport, Consular and Notarial Services 

Our High Commission in Nicosia offers a range of services including passport, consular and notarial services.

These services are offered strictly via an appointment system (click 'Book Appointment' or see further below for more info).

Passport services available on Monday and Wednesday between 8:30am and 10:30am and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 8:30am and 12:30pm. For more passport info visit the Australian Passports Office.

Consular and Notarial services are available on Monday and Wednesday between 10:30am and 12:30pm. For more information on Notarial Services and Document Legalisation, please visit here.

Consular and Passport services in north Cyprus are located at Shakespeare House, Mehmet Akif Avenue 29, Koskluciftlik, north Nicosia on Mondays between 09:00 to 12:30 and are limited to emergency or urgent passport and notarial services. You may also contact us on: +90 533 846 7017

We only accept credit cards and cannot accept cash or cheques. Payments in north Cyprus can ONLY be made in exact cash in Euro currency. Please refer to the list with the passport and consular fees. Prices listed are in Australian Dollars ($), but payment will be made in Euro (€) locally. Local fees are subject to change monthly with currency fluctuations.

Visas and Citizenship

The Australian High Commission in Nicosia, Cyprus, does not have an Immigration function. Therefore, it cannot provide visa or citizenship advice. Please visit the Department of Home Affairs' website for information on visas and citizenship. 

The new Global Service Centre is available to answer queries Monday to Friday, 9am to 5 pm (local time - Cyprus), by calling Australia on +61 2 6196 0196 (international rates apply).
